Can I use cut-to-size plywood for a bed base?
Yes, plywood can be used as a base under a mattress when properly supported by a suitable bed frame. The required thickness depends on the support structure and spacing. For a bed base, 15mm or 18mm plywood are common choices where appropriate support is provided underneath.
My bed size is 200 × 180cm. Can the plywood be made in one piece?
No. Due to the physical limitations of plywood sheet sizes and handling, a 200 × 180cm panel cannot be supplied as one piece. You will need 2 pieces, either 2 × 200 × 90cm or 2 × 100 × 180cm, depending on how your bed is supported.
